It was 6:30pm last night when it began to rain heavily along with some thunder and lightening.
I think it was about 7pm when it began to calm down and the beautiful light that comes right after a storm
was all around. I waited a little while just to make sure it was over but then I noticed it was getting dark so I headed outside.
I walked around the front of the house like I normally do after a storm to make sure everything was okay.
I then proceeded to walk to the backyard to do the same. It began to lightly rain at that moment as I looked up to look at the roof I was pleasantly surprised to see the rainbow over our backyard. I ran quickly inside and grabbed the widest lens I could to capture it before it disappeared.

As you can see from the photo below it was fading fast. I am just glad I was able to get the shot.

I know you were surprised to see a post here on a Saturday well, I was just as surprised as you to be doing one but since the weather has been on most of our minds these last days with the impending Winter Blast I wanted to share a few photos with you what we got around where I live.

The mountain region here in North Carolina received a good 10 inches while the others in the near lower elevations received about 6 inches and here in the Piedmont we got anywhere from 1 to 3 inches depending on exactly where you were. For me right outside my door we got mostly sleet and slush without that much accumulation. The true test will be tomorrow when the temperatures drops tonight and everything freezes it will certainly be a good day to stay inside and off the roads while enjoying some good movies around a nice warm fire.
