I was inspired this week to look around my house for Childhood Toys by the MCP 52 Week Project. They have Flickr Group where they share their photos for that week’s theme and even though I don’t physically participate in the group I like to stop by and see the photos posted.

So below here is my take on “Childhood Toys”

Ok, if you are as old as I am you have to remember when the Rubik’s Cube first came out it and how it was all the rage. Everyone was trying to figure out how to get all the same color on all sides. Some even resorted to cheating but I am happy to say I think I did it 2 twice back in the day and I might add by sure accident. The one in the photo actually is an original that belongs to my husband so when the Rubik’s Cube came back into style and became popular again my husband remembered he had one packed away and dug it out so my son can play with it.

A little bit of info for you… In 2010 the original 3×3×3 version celebrated its 38th anniversary.

Now you all had to have played Trouble at least once in your childhood. I used to play this all the time on my porch with my friends that and Spit. Remember the card game Spit boy that was fun but that is for another time. The one above is a version of Trouble I bought for my son many years ago called Frustration it’s a lot cheaper cost version to the original and I think I purchased it at Kay-bee Toy store.

This made a great travel game to take over to grandmas or on vacation as kill time in the hotels.

This last one has such a sentimental attachment, as it was one of the first baby toys my son received. It was from his grandparents and he loved banging on it and creating noise lol.

So when I was looking for items and came across this on the game shelf it brought so much joy and laughter I new I had to include it.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my little walk down Childhood Toys memory lane. It was nice to stop and look around at some of the items I had here at home and all the great memories attached to them.

BTW, The header photo of the stuff bear & dog with the ball belong to our precious Midnight she enjoys her stuff animals and playing ball and I thought it would great to include some of her favorites toys in this post.

Until next time, don’t forget to time out and enjoy your view.

This week photo is a picture I came across when I was cleaning out my folders and forgot the fact that I never shared it with you. It’s from my North Carolina Transportation Museum series and was one of the exhibits offering us a glimpse of the different ways of communication and how it evolved over the years. It was very interesting to see the different items and being able to touch them was an added plus.

I thought about processing it black and white for all you all know by now it’s my favorite but decided against it. Instead, I wanted to create old color film processing it was just screaming for it and I am so glad that I did for I love how it turned out I hope you do as well.

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Thank you all who sent me private emails wishing me a Happy 17th Anniversary we had a great day together on Saturday and Sunday we were so blessed to be sharing the day with our family it truly was a wonderful weekend.

For today’s post I wanted to blog about a nice unexpected photo opportunity that presented itself while I was sitting in my home office working. I was there working away listening to my favorite tunes on the radio when I happened to look over and noticed that my son had left his guitar in the office I just loved the way it slated a little away from the bookcase and you could the books in the background I ran to get the camera which was not that far away from me and took the photo below.

Of course when I was processing it I had to give that retro feel to it the photo was calling for it what can I say my son plays classic rock.
