Sometime in November my family and I ventured to Discovery Place uptown to see the newly renovated facilities with the added new attractions and exhibits. One of the parts we loved was the World Alive Exhibit with aquariums that displayed fifteen tanks of varying sizes featuring ecosystems from around the world such as a live Indo-Pacific coral reef, North Carolina coastal habitats, and a seafloor reef rubble habitat exhibiting sharks, stingrays and more.

Below are 2 photos I took of one of the tanks it was fun and challenging shooting it through the glass.

I used my trusty 35mm lens and pressed it right on the glass so I could lessen the reflections and have it feel as if I was really under the sea. I am pretty pleased on how well it turned out.

If you like snakes you may want to stop by my pet photography blog to check the post Snakes Alive I did back in December about the snakes we saw at the Discovery Place.

Found him and the web he was creating by the birdhouse my father-in-law made us. I could not resist but to take a photo then my husband told me to dispose of him because he is poisonous and we did not want Midnight to get a hold of him and get stung so I made the hubby do it.
